What a waste.
I went into the shed and checked out my veges. FROZEN.
F R O Z E N!
Yeh, I know it looks OK, but it has a brown area on its' underside, so
I brought it in. It's the worst looking SUNBURST SQUASH in the shed, to see how it might defrost ....I knew I was in for trouble.
I cooked what I could - curry.
Here is the rest. COMPOST.

3 BIG MARROWS
5 GOOD SIZED SUNBURST SQUASHES.
At the GARDEN PLOT:-
POTATOES - 3 types. quite well wrapped ....but I have real worries that they'll go straight to mush.

Before next year I'll set up clamps Dry soil/sand tubs that we bury our veges in to protect them from frost and absorb fluids that run out during rotting (should we be that unfortunate). It becomes a lucky dip when looking for your veges. Obviously, tradition has it that you set up a different clamp for each type of vege. My Dad always set his clamps in the corner of a brick shed, with some ply wood between each veg type. Simple, easy to clean away into sacks the next summer and frost hardy. PERFECT.
I'll have time to organise all this over this winter, once I've finished with the Turn Around House. Which will mean no waste over next winter:
