I mentioned the amazing quality of my brassicas recently,
and thought I should put my money where my keyboard is and show you some evidence.
The outer leaves were nibbled, though not into a lace effect, more into holes. I've dumped those unwanted leaves on the ground near the brassica bed. My theory is - as slugs and snails usually home in on old plant material, where they stuff themselves silly, slide to the safety of the darkside of the leaf and nod off, all I need do is lift up the leaves and pick off the little blighters - easy!
Good cabbage though, even if it should have been hearty by about May - not July.
