Here in Nailsworth in the glorious Cotswolds, we have alkali soil - because our bedrock is limestone.
Because of our soil type here, our HYDRANGEAS are always PINK. We can get blue ones in other parts of the UK where the soil is acid, BUT NOT HERE.
So why are these ones BLUE? Another bush a few houses along has the usual pink flowers, as do we in our garden. The owners, my customers, do NOTHING to keep it blue.
HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN BLUE?
42 YEARS - AT LEAST.
Before the houses were built, this was a field.
What's underneath this hydrangea, in its'soil?
A BODY???
