I was well aware that this veg had become frozen as it sat, OVER WINTERING in our shed. You know, it never occurred to me to throw them all on the compost whilst they were frozen stiff - DERR-ERRR!
No, I had it in my head that I would wait for them to defrost before I disposed of them????
WHAT WAS I THINKING?
CLEARLY I WASN'T!
Today, with the temperature hitting a balmy 5 degrees C, I thought I should remove them before they liquefied all over the shed floor.
TOO LATE.
They don't look so yummy now,
and wont be carrying us all the way to May/June next year and the new crop.
I suppose I can console myself with the thought that they will decompose into lovely compost .... as I get on with mopping the wooden floor of the shed.
I need a better plan for next winter?
