We got back from our holiday in Scotland to be greeted by this wondrous sight in our back yard.
These Lillys are so perfectly arranged as to look DISNEYESQUE, or even PLASTIC!
But the smell, that was the thing that hit us, heavy, cinnamon sweet. We stood there and drank it in ….with our tea.
When we left, only a week ago, the HYDRANGIAS were in bloom. Tight, acid green flowers, small, perfect.
Well LOOK AT THEM NOW.
What a difference a week makes.
The STOCKS chime so well with the ROSE at the entrance and the tiny White ASTORS
Dad and my brothers gave me a load of plants this year, mostly SUMMER BULBS and the like.
This ALLIUM is a great surprise, with a colour that sits well with the overall look of the garden right now.
These GEUMS have been flowering for several weeks.
The bijoux flowers make their way up the stem as the season progresses.
DOES THIS PORTEND THE END OF SUMMER?
